Established in 1993, Lacewood Furniture has been producing exceptional antique
and period style furniture, specializing in North Qld Silky Oak.
The ´Lacewood Collection´ started with a Queen size Silky Oak bed
(Art Nouveau) and now some 12 years later, comprises a collection of beds and a
variety of other period style pieces for all parts of the home.
Silky Oak (Cardwelia Sublimus) was one of the primary cabinet timbers used in
Qld during the early 1900s and we too specialize in using this distinctive
timber. Only genuine Nth. Qld Silky Oak is used, featuring the
beautiful quarter sawn grain patterns of this highly prized cabinet timber.
Handmade carvings, traditional mouldings and hardware, combined with
meticulous attention to design, ensure each piece has the appearance of a
restored antique, allowing your Lacewood pieces to blend comfortably with
your period furniture. All pieces are built to the highest standards,
using the finest materials and polished with shellac, lacquer and beeswax,
to create truly heirloom quality furniture.
Now, newly released is the ´French Collection´. A fine
collection of French provincial and Continental furniture, crafted in the
old tradition from select cuts of European Oak. Applying the same
attention to detail as the ´Lacewood Collection´ means these
pieces are virtually indistinguishable from the genuine article, while
incorporating enhanced design features, e.g. large table tops,
increased cabinet depth and retractable doors for modern entertainment
equipment.
All work is 100% Australian made, proudly made here in
our Brisbane workshop by local craftsman.
